Commercials:
Todd Alan Crain -- Commercial Reel from Todd Crain on Vimeo.
Todd has a couple of favorite commercials: "Pendaflex" (his very first TV commercial), "Haverty's" (with the incredibly talented Emily Tarver), and the biggest production (not to mention most fun) was the "Boston Pizza" campaign.
Boston Pizza is a huge Canadian family restaurant chain. The Canadian advertising agency held auditions in New York for their character, "Terry Peters." Luckily, Todd booked the job and flew down to Mexico City, Mexico for three days to shoot the commercial. As soon as he deplaned, he was taken to the production office in Mexico City for his costume fitting and photo shoot. The picture, below, is one of the posters that was printed for the spot. The other photos from that shoot are used in the banners you see on either side of the stage.
The commercial was shot in a beautiful theatre in the heart of Mexico City with only 75 extras--made to look like thousands, thanks to the magic of television.
It seems glamorous, but it took 14 hours to shoot this 1 minute commercial.
